Mc Arthur Park
Don Apolinar Velez St, Cagayan de Oro, 9000 Misamis Oriental

Vicente de Lara Park or most known as Mc Arthur Park is situated in front of Misamis Oriental Province (Provincial Capitol).


The park was firstly named after Gen. Mc Arthur who landed in Cagayan de Oro from his escaped of Corregidor en route to Australia, however renamed to its formerly Provincial Gov. Vecente de Lara who is political lineage of Senator Teofisto De Lara Guingona III. Now, to its present the park is imposing not only the Monument Heritage which designed by the National Artist Eduardo Castrillo but also its landscape and the intendedly made home breading for birds. 













   

Metropolitan Cathedral (San Agustin )




·  Cathedral :
Metropolitan Cathedral (San Agustin ) situated besides Gaston Park and across Cagayan de Oro City Hall. The church is the city's main Catholic church inspired by Gothic architecture and old stained glass windows donated by the American Catholics. The original church built by Friars which made wof coral stones imported from China was ruined during the World War II. Through the first bishop of Cagayan de Oro, American missionary Fr. James T. G Hayes the present Cathedral was built in 1946.



DUAW KAGAYAN PARK





Parks have always played roles for Kagay-anons. Way back earlier years Cagayan de Oro had its Gaston Park, Mc Arthur park, Plaza Divisoria and now the recent beautified Duaw Park.

Duaw Kagayan Park is located beneath YsalinaBridge and in between Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral (San Agustin). This park is the local government project heed by Mayor Oscar Moreno and her first lady Arlene P. Moreno from the idea inspired of Kagay-anon request in Canada and Northern America.
The Duaw Kagayan Park is slowly notice by many. During early mornings, afternoons evenings, several Kagay-anons are fond of strolling the area and enjoying the views with its cold air coming from the river.
